NITLE is a non-profit initiative dedicated to promoting liberal education. We provide opportunities for teachers in liberal arts contexts to create transformative learning experiences for and with their students by deploying emerging technologies in innovative, effective, and sustainable ways.
Peer Networks and Communities
A key benefit for faculty and staff at
participating colleges is the option to interact with peers in a variety of virtual communities. NITLE offers e-mail lists for a number of
peer networks and communities; eligible individuals may subscribe (or unsubscribe) at any time.
New workshops scheduled
Four workshops have been added to NITLE's
professional development calendar:
Digital Repositories: Using DSpace,
Emerging Technologies and the Liberal Arts Campus,
Visual Literacy: Tools for Teaching and Learning with Images, and
Technologies for Teaching Writing. Institutions and organizations that participate in the
Network are eligible to host
Workshops-to-Go upon request.
Instructional Innovation Awards announced
Six awards have been distributed from NITLE's
Instructional Innovation Funds to support projects ranging from
developing a computer-driven clinical research laboratory to
integrating library resources and Sakai. Other topics:
digital course design,
virtual material culture collections,
geospatial technologies, and
TEI-based projects at small colleges. Thanks to all the proposal submitters and regional advisory councils for making these awards possible.
